Treatment Approaches
Internal Family Systems
IFS is an insight oriented modality where we seek to understand how trauma has shaped your inner world. Rather than fighting your protective patterns, we approach them with curiosity and compassion, helping the parts of you that have been carrying pain, fear, or responsibility begin to heal.
Somatic & Nervous System Work
Together, we gently explore patterns of tension, hypervigilance, and overwhelm while helping your nervous system develop a greater sense of safety and regulation. As your body learns that it no longer has to remain in survival mode, it often becomes easier to feel calmer,
Holistic Therapy
Holistic therapy recognizes that trauma affects the whole person—mind, body, emotions, relationships, and sense of self. Together, we work toward not only healing the effects of trauma, but also fostering greater self-understanding, resilience, and a renewed sense of wholeness.
From Survival to Safety
Trauma can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, stuck in old patterns, and constantly waiting for the next thing to go wrong. Healing involves more than understanding what happened—it is about helping your mind, body, and nervous system learn that safety is possible again.
-
Trauma is not defined solely by what happened to you, but by how those experiences continue to affect your life. If you struggle with chronic anxiety, difficulty trusting others, emotional numbness, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling stuck in survival mode, trauma may be playing a role.

While we cannot erase painful experiences, healing is absolutely possible. Many people find they develop a greater sense of safety, emotional resilience, self-trust, and freedom from the patterns that once felt impossible to change.
-
Coping skills can certainly be helpful, and we may incorporate practical tools when needed. However, my approach goes beyond symptom management and focuses on helping you understand and heal the deeper roots of anxiety so that lasting change can occur.
-
Absolutely. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling discouraged after previous experiences where they learned coping skills or gained insight but still felt stuck. Together, we work at a deeper level to understand not only what your anxiety is saying, but also what it may be protecting.
-
Healing from trauma looks different for everyone. Some clients experience meaningful changes within a few months, while others choose longer-term therapy to work through deeper patterns developed over many years. Together, we regularly revisit your goals and tailor therapy to your needs.

No. Trauma can result from a single overwhelming event, but it can also develop through ongoing experiences such as childhood emotional neglect, criticism, unpredictable caregiving, relationship wounds, or chronic stress. You do not need to "prove" that your experiences were traumatic to deserve support.
-
This is very common. Our memories are only one part of the story, and healing does not depend on remembering every detail. We can work with your current emotions, relationship patterns, body sensations, and life experiences without forcing memories to emerge.
-
No. Trauma therapy moves at a pace that feels safe for you. Building safety, trust, and emotional regulation is often more important than recounting every detail of painful experiences. Sometimes its even more helpful to process what’s happening in the here and now, instead of digging into the past.
-
Yes. Growing up without consistent emotional attunement, validation, or safety can have lasting effects on how you relate to yourself and others. Many adults who experienced emotional neglect struggle with self-worth, anxiety, perfectionism, difficulty identifying their needs, or feeling disconnected from themselves.
